Job description

Aalborg University Business School(AAUBS) and its International Business Research Group, at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, invite applications for a 2-year part-time postdoc position in International Business(part-time). The position is available from December 15th or as soon as possible thereafter.

The International Business Research Group at AAUBS aims to deliver high quality PBL-teaching, research, and outreach activities in international business to enable students, companies, and society at large to address the grand challenges in an increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous world. The position is an integral part of the development strategy of the International Business Research Group. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and collaborative faculty dedicated to excellence in cross-cultural teaching and research.

Research areas will be within International Business with a focus on one or more of the following contemporary areas reflecting the current trends and challenges in the field of International Business:

  • Digital Transformation and International Business.
  • Resilience and change management of internationalised firms in the face of global disruptions.

The successful applicant is required to show evidence of a pipeline of internationally recognised research publications and to demonstrate a well-thought-out plan for future research activities. The appointee is expected to be a team player, actively involved in interdisciplinary research by developing collaborations with other research groups within AAUBS and with Departments across the University.

A willingness and ability to contribute to teaching and an enthusiastic approach to all aspects of teaching is essential. The appointee is expected to contribute to an engaging and inclusive Problem-Based Learning(PBL) environment at AAUBS. Academics with experience in PBL are strongly encouraged to apply.

The position will be heavily weighted in favour of research. In addition, there will be a certain amount of teaching activities. The performance of other duties may be required to a limited extent. The university determines the exact weighting of the various responsibilities. The weighting of the various responsibilities may vary over time.


Appointment as a postdoc cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University. Appointment at postdoc level cannot exceed a period of eight years in total in Denmark, however max. six years at Assistant Professor level- which includes Postdoc- at the same institution.

Qualification requirements
Appointment as Postdoc presupposes scientific qualifications at PhD–level or similar scientific qualifications.

Assessment
The assessment of candidates for the position will be carried out by qualified experts.

Shortlisting will be applied. This means that after the application deadline, the head of the department, with the assistance of the hiring committee, will select the applicants to be assessed. All applicants will be informed whether they have been shortlisted for assessment or not.

When the hiring process is completed, a final rejection will be sent to the applicants who are not considered for the position.
