PREDICT is at the forefront of international research to unravel the cause and prognosis of inflammatory bowel diseases(IBD), which are chronic and disabling conditions affecting millions of people worldwide. The Center is composed of clinicians, epidemiologists, laboratory, and data scientists working with collaborators nationally and internationally to push the boundaries of precision medicine research and create real-world impact in IBD. The Position
We are looking to recruit an excellent postdoctoral fellow to join our Metabolomics group, which focuses on characterizing preclinical metabolomic alterations in IBD and exploring their interactions with genetics, the gut microbiome, and dietary intake. The successful candidate will lead bioinformatics analyses on metabolomic and multi-omic datasets, contributing to cutting-edge research in inflammatory bowel disease. A key aspect of this role involves analyzing Raman spectroscopy imaging data from intestinal biopsies of patients with Crohn’s disease, helping to deepen our understanding of segmental intestinal inflammation and its links to microplastics and other synthetic particles.
The postdoctoral fellow will play a key role in multiple research projects, with responsibilities including study design, data analysis, manuscript preparation, presenting findings at international conferences, and mentoring students.
Qualification requirements
The ideal candidate has:
- A PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics or metabolomics
- Proven expertise in omics data analysis
- A history of high quality publications
- Excellent writing and communication skills in English
- A proactive mindset and the ability to work both Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Experience with analysis of Raman spectroscopy data is preferred but not required.
