Job description

The key aim of the position is to promote interdisciplinary research on sociotechnical and social practice theoretical studies of energy and sustainability transitions related to everyday practices, including smart energy solutions and energy renovation within an everyday life context. In addition, the position involves research into co-creation or participatory design as methods to be applied in energy and sustainability transitions in households, local communities, cities and similar contexts. The position involves both empirical studies(mainly qualitative methods) of existing energy practices and transitions as well as the design of participatory processes to be applied in such transitions.

The successful candidate will have strong skills in sociotechnical and social practice theoretical studies of energy transitions and everyday practices within homes and communities, strong skills in qualitative research methods, and experience with co-creation or participatory design methods. Experience with issues of inclusiveness and intersectionality as part of sustainable transitions would also be desirable. Furthermore, the candidate should ideally have experience on planning and organizing qualitative research designs and analyzing qualitative data, experience with reporting research findings, and the ability to work in a team as well as independently.

The position requires an education at master level within architecture, design studies, social sciences or similar as well as a PhD-degree. It is expected that the candidate has documented experience of interdisciplinary collaboration with other researchers, and with project management and writing research applications.

The department is primarily financed via external funding; experience with and desire to work with applications are consequently a necessity. Moreover, as most projects require multidisciplinary skills, working in teams is a precondition for this position.

Qualification requirements
Appointment as an Assistant Professor presupposes scientific qualifications at Ph.D.–level or similar scientific qualifications. The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment.

Assessment
The assessment of candidates for the position will be carried out by qualified experts.

Shortlisting will be applied. This means that after the application deadline, the head of the department, with the assistance of the hiring committee, will select the applicants to be assessed. All applicants will be informed whether they have been shortlisted for assessment or not.

Salary and terms of employment are in accordance with the collective agreement between the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations and the state(AC collective agreement)(only in Danish) and circular concerning protocol on certain terms of employment of academic staff at universities(only in Danish).
